Dr. Young's Bio & CV

Dr. Young was born in 1951 in Santa Barbara, California. He graduated from Ventura High in Ventura, CA in 1969. He married his high school sweetheart, Joanne Bromberger, in 1971. He and Joanne graduated from Sonoma State University with BAs in 1974. They served in the Peace Corps in Micronesia, as elementary school teachers from 1974-76.

In 1976, the Young’s first child, Jovi, was born, and in 1978, Kenn.

Dr. Young graduated summa cum laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 1982, and opened Ventura Chiropractic & Massage in Ventura, CA in 1983. California Chiropractic license #15080.

In 1991 Dr. Young was introduced to world renowned biochemist and medical educator, Dr. Jeffrey Bland. Following Dr. Bland and the emerging field of Functional Medicine, has kept Dr. Young on the cutting edge of medical science and practice. In the fall of 1999 he completed Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice (AFMCP) in Gig Harbor, Washington. In the years since 1993, Dr. Young has attended all but three of the annual International Conferences on Functional Medicine, and has completed 6 of the 7 modules offered by the Institute for Functional Medicine that lead to certification as a Functional Medicine Practitioner.
